Heucherella Kirella Fresh Green Rooted Cutting Liner

For best results with Heucherella Kirella Fresh Green, plant one rooted plug per 4- or 6-inch container and three per 10-inch container. Use a well-drained soil with a pH of 5.5-6.5, EC of 0.75-1.25 (PourThru), temperatures of 60-65 daytime and 50-55 nighttime, and light feed (50-75 ppm N) in a 20-10-20 formulation. Keep soil evenly moist to maintain root temperatures of 55-60 degrees, preventing damage and an opportunity for root rot. This plant doesn't require pinching or PGRs. You may see root weevils which you may control with an acephate drench.

You may see root weevils. A drench of acetate will control grub populations and a spray of acetate will control adult populations. Apply chemicals in the evening when the beetles are most active.

This plant isn't prone to disease, however leaf spot and root rot can develop. Prevent leaf spot by watering at the base of each plant, avoiding getting the foliage wet. Root rot tends to affect Heucherella when the roots have been damaged. Prevent root damage by maintaining cool temperatures for the roots, between 55-60 degrees. Keep the soil evenly moist, not allowing the roots to sit in soggy soil or dry out. Provide good airflow in your greenhouse. We recommend using horizontal airflow fans.
