Lysimachia Procumbens Golden Globes (also known as Golden Globes Loosestrife) is a member of the Primrose family that is native to China.
Golden Globes is a perennial most often used for groundcover.
Its short, spreading habit also makes it a good choice for mixed containers, window boxes, border fronts, and rock gardens.
Golden Globes is moisture tolerant and its red-throated yellow flowers bloom May-July.
In areas where temperatures remain above 15? in winter, Golden Globes is evergreen.
It attracts pollinators and when planted in well-drained soil rich with organic matter, it will flourish with very little maintenance.
Golden Globes Selling Tips
Sell Golden Globes to your customers who are looking for low-maintenance groundcover or a cheerful trailing flower for windowboxes, borders, rock gardens, or mixed containers. Golden Globes has many benefits to offer in a landscape application, especially as groundcover. Its spreading nature will create a full mat in small areas where it is planted. Each plant will spread to be 18-24 inches wide. Small red-throated yellow flowers bloom in clusters May-July and Golden Globes Loosestrife is evergreen in mild winter climates. It does well in full sun to partial shade and does not require fertilizing. It is not affected by any major pests and it attracts pollinators.
Coach your customer:
Plant in full sun to partial shade in well-drained soil that is rich with organic matter. Amend average soil with humus-rich compost. Space plants 15-18 inches apart.
Keep soil moist, but well-drained. Standing water or soggy roots may damage the plant. Watch out for rust and leaf spots.
Remove old foliage in the fall or spring, before new growth occurs.
General Growing Tips For Your Rooted Cutting Liner
For best results with Golden Globes, use well-drained, rich soil in full sun or partial shade with a pH of 5.7-6.2. Loosestrife does not require fertilizing, but a small dose of a balanced mix (10-10-10 for example) will help you finish them off faster. We recommend a 100-150 PPM feed program. Plant one starter plant per 4 inch pot. We recommend spacing containers to allow for airflow and light penetration. Look out for rust and leaf spots. Keep soil moist, but not swampy.
Flowering
Golden Globes flowers from May-July. Use soil rich with organic matter to create an ideal environment.
Pinching
Lysimachia is a natural vine and a rather fast grower. We recommend that you pinch them 5-10 days after transplanting to your final container. They may require a second pinch to shape the plant for your final needs.
Spacing
For hanging baskets, an average pot will need to be spaced at 2' centers. Space 4 inch containers far enough apart to allow for airflow (around 6-8 inches on center). If you are growing them for landscape use in an 1801, be prepared to control growth through proper pinching.
Height Control
Golden Globes does not tend to stretch tall and are not responsive to plant growth regulators. Use proper pinching to control growth.
Pests
Whiteflies, aphids, and spider mites are the biggest pest problems with Lysimachia.
Disease
Watch out for rust and leaf spots. Rust may be indicated by yellowed, withering leaves. Rust should be treated by immediately removing the affected plant parts. For a rust infestation that continues to return, a preventative fungicide may be used when new growth begins in the Spring. Prevent rust from spreading by removing all diseased debris at the end of the season.
Fungal leaf spot shouldn't cause Loosestrife to die, however it does cause cosmetic blemishes on plant foliage; this broad group of plant disease appears as small brownish lesions on plant leaves or flowers. It can be prevented by providing sufficient airflow, keeping plants away from standing water, and watering at the base of the plant. A fungicide can be used to treat leaf spot if the integrity of the plant will be damaged.
Planting Golden Globes Liners
We recommend planting 4-5 starter plants per 10 inch basket. Use a well-drained soil in your baskets and plant your starter plants deep, allowing the ellepot to be completely covered by the soil. If you are planting 4 inch pots, 1 plant per pot should be sufficient. Plant it directly in the middle of your pot.
Pinching is recommended 5-10 days after transplantation. A second pinch may be necessary depending on the size and shape of the final pot.
Rooted Cuttings
Cuttings vary in size between different plant families. These rooted starter plants will arrive ready to be transplanted in to your final container. If they are to be used in a landscape application, you will need to establish them in a 4 inch pot or an 1801 before planting outside.

Before we take this relationship any further...
It looks like this is the first time you've added anything to your cart.
We just wanted to remind you that we are a wholesale starter plant company that sells to businesses, schools, clubs, and other non-profits. State law dictates that you must be growing for resale to order from us since we are not collecting sales tax.
If we aren't a match, we understand. It's not you, it's us.
We would look awful in orange jumpsuits.
