Doublet Pink, also known as Begonia semperflorens or Wax Begonia, is a perennial native to South America. Danziger developed the Doublet series for early flowering and superior heat tolerance. This compact plant offers a mounding habit of 12-14" tall and 8-10" wide, with frilly pink double flowers blooming from mid-spring to mid-fall. Dark green to bronze foliage provides an attractive contrast to the colorful flowers. This plant flourishes in full or partial sun with moderate water, cheering up patios and front porches in hanging baskets or containers. Bring color variety to the landscape by planting Pink alongside Red, Rose, and White in borders or hanging baskets.
Doublet Pink Selling Tips
Sell Doublet Pink to customers looking for a unique flower for hanging baskets or containers. This plant is perennial in zone 10-12 and can overwinter indoors in containers in colder climates. This cultivar offers good heat tolerance and a compact, mounding habit, with cheerful flowers on dark green to bronze foliage from mid-spring to mid-fall. Pair Wax Begonia with Heliotropium, Coleus, Impatiens, and Boston Fern. Begonia brings captivating color and contrast to hanging baskets, containers, and landscape beds.
Coach Your Customer
1. Space plants 8-10" apart in well-drained soil in a sunny or partly sunny location.
2. Water regularly, but do not allow standing water.
3. Treat this plant as an annual outside zone 10-12 or bring containers or baskets indoors over winter.
General Growing Tips For Your Rooted Cutting Liner
For best results with Doublet Pink, plant one rooted plug per 4-inch container. Use well-drained soil with a pH of 5.6-6.2, EC of 0.9-1.0, temperatures of 65-68, and light feed (100-150 ppm N). This plant is day-neutral and doesn't require PGRs or pinching. It isn't prone to pests or diseases.
Flowering
Frilly double light pink flowers bloom from mid-spring to mid-fall.
Pinching
This plant doesn't require pinching.
Spacing
Space containers for adequate airflow around the base of each plant and to allow sunlight to penetrate to the soil level.
Height Control
This plant doesn't typically require PGRs. Use a spray of B-Nine if needed.
Pests
This plant isn't prone to pests.
Disease
This plant isn't usually prone to disease. Watch for botrytis while the days are short or humid. Prevent fungal infections by watering at the base of each plant in the morning, providing good airflow in your greenhouse, and allowing soil to dry between waterings.
Planting Doublet Pink Liners
We recommend planting one rooted plug per 4-inch container. Use well-drained soil and completely bury the ellepot in the center of the container.
Rooted Cuttings
Cuttings vary in size between different plant families. These rooted starter plants will arrive ready to be transplanted in to your final container. If they are to be used in a landscape application, you will need to establish them in a 4 inch pot or an 1801 before planting outside.

Before we take this relationship any further...
It looks like this is the first time you've added anything to your cart.
We just wanted to remind you that we are a wholesale starter plant company that sells to businesses, schools, clubs, and other non-profits. State law dictates that you must be growing for resale to order from us since we are not collecting sales tax.
If we aren't a match, we understand. It's not you, it's us.
We would look awful in orange jumpsuits.
