Cupid White Imp, also known as Mexican Heather or Cuphea hyssopifolia, is a cultivar of the annual flowering plant native to Mexico. Danziger developed this variety for superior flowering and a more compact habit than the free-trade plant. Cupid offers delicate foliage in a mounded habit of 6-8" tall and 10-12" wide, with white flowers blooming from late spring through summer. This heat-loving plant flourishes in full or partial sun with only regular water. Attract butterflies and bees by planting Cuphea in containers, landscape borders, and garden beds. For a taller variety, try Floriglory Miguel.
Cupid White Imp Selling Tips
Sell Cupid White Imp to customers looking for an annual for mass planting or to add to a landscape border or container. Cuphea offers many benefits, from heat and drought tolerance to a long bloom season and attracting pollinators. This plant has white flowers on a compact mounding habit, flourishing in full sun with no care besides regular water. Create an attractive summer landscape by planting Mexican Heather alongside Agastache, Crossandra, Lantana, and Mexican Sunflower.
Coach Your Customer
1. Space plants 10-12" apart in well-drained soil in a sunny location.
2. Water regularly, especially in extreme heat.
General Growing Tips For Your Rooted Cutting Liner
For best results with Cupid White Imp, plant one rooted plug per 4-inch container, two or three per gallon, or three to five per 10-inch container. Use a well-drained soil with a pH of 5.8-6.2, EC of 0.9-1.2, temperatures of 65-68, and light feed (100-150 ppm N). Apply B-Nine if needed and provide 5,000-7,000 fc light. You may see aphids, spider mites, and thrips. Botrytis can affect this plant.
Flowering
White flowers bloom from spring through fall.
Pinching
This plant doesn't require pinching.
Spacing
Space containers for adequate airflow and sunlight penetration around the base of each plant.
Height Control
This plant doesn't require PGRs. Use B-Nine spray at 3,750 ppm if needed.
Pests
You may see aphids, spider mites, and thrips.
Disease
Botrytis can affect this plant especially during short days or in wet, humid conditions. Prevent infection by watering at the base of each plant in the morning, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Provide good airflow in your greenhouse. We recommend using horizontal airflow fans. Space plants so that sunlight can penetrate to the soil level of each container.
Planting Cupid White Imp Liners
We recommend using one rooted liner per 4-inch container, two-three per gallon container, or three-five per 10-inch container. Use a well-drained soil and completely bury the ellepot evenly spaced or in the center of your container.
Rooted Cuttings
Cuttings vary in size between different plant families. These rooted starter plants will arrive ready to be transplanted in to your final container. If they are to be used in a landscape application, you will need to establish them in a 4 inch pot or an 1801 before planting outside.

Before we take this relationship any further...
It looks like this is the first time you've added anything to your cart.
We just wanted to remind you that we are a wholesale starter plant company that sells to businesses, schools, clubs, and other non-profits. State law dictates that you must be growing for resale to order from us since we are not collecting sales tax.
If we aren't a match, we understand. It's not you, it's us.
We would look awful in orange jumpsuits.
