Herbstii Brilliantisima, also known as Bloodleaf and Beefsteak Plant, is a tender perennial foliage plant native to Brazil. This variety offers a shrubby, spreading, upright habit of 12-36" tall and wide, reaching as much as 5' tall in its native climate. Ovate foliage is dark green and purple with hot pink veining, blushing to magenta in full sun. This plant is heat and shade tolerant, requiring little more than a mostly sunny location and regular water to thrive in annual borders and containers in any region. Perennial in zone 10-12, Brilliantisima grows well annually or as a houseplant in cold climates.
