Harmony Colorfall Passion, also known as Impatiens hawkeri, is a hybrid tender perennial typically grown as an annual native to Papua New Guinea. Danziger developed this variety for its unique trailing habit and sun tolerance. Harmony is semi-trailing, 12-14" tall and 14-16" wide, with large, light pink flowers blooming from spring until frost. This cultivar offers excellent branching and prolific flowering, flourishing in partial sun or shade with moderate water. Perennial in warm-weather zone 10-11, this plant brings a burst of color to hanging baskets, patio containers, and landscape borders. Create striking color contrast by pairing Passion with Dark Leaf Red and White.
Harmony Colorfall Passion Selling Tips
Sell Harmony Colorfall Passion to customers looking for a low-maintenance annual to brighten a patio container or hanging basket. The Harmony Colorfall series offers semi-trailing New Guinea Impatiens that flourish in partial sun or full shade. Create a beautiful show of color and texture by pairing this plant with Coleus, Ipomoea, Fuchsia, Fern, and Begonia.
Coach Your Customer
1. Space plants 14" apart in well-drained soil in partial sun or full shade.
2. Water once a week or more often in containers or dry weather.
3. In cold regions, remove plants after frost. In zone 10-11, this plant is perennial.
General Growing Tips For Your Rooted Cutting Liner
For best results with Harmony Colorfall Passion, plant one rooted liner per 4- or 6-inch container or 10-inch basket. Use a well-drained soil with a pH of 5.8-6.2, EC of 0.8-1.0, light feed (100-125 ppm N), and average daily temperatures of 65-70 degrees. This plant doesn't require pinching and can be sensitive to salt. Chemical growth regulators aren't usually necessary, but New Guinea Impatiens will respond to Uniconazole at transplant and paclobutrazol shortly before finishing. Watch for aphids, thrips, botrytis, and root rot.
Flowering
Light pink flowers bloom from spring to frost.
Pinching
This plant doesn't require pinching.
Spacing
Space containers for adequate airflow and sunlight penetration the base of each plant. We recommend spacing 4-inch containers 7" apart and 10-inch containers 18" apart.
Height Control
This plant doesn't typically need PGRs. However, it will respond to a drench of Uniconazole at 5-7 ppm at transplant and a Paclobutrazol drench of .25-.50 ppm two to three weeks before reaching its finished size. High light intensity, low fertilizer, and proper watering are the best ways to control stretching for Harmony Colorfall Passion.
Pests
You may see aphids and thrips.
Disease
This plant isn't prone to disease, but botrytis and root rot can develop in overly wet or humid conditions. Prevent infection in your greenhouse with a few basic steps:
1. Water at the base of each plant in the morning and allow the soil to dry out between watering.
2. Space containers so air and sunlight can reach the soil level of each plant.
3. Provide good airflow in your greenhouse. We recommend using horizontal airflow fans.
Planting Harmony Colorfall Passion Liners
We recommend planting one rooted plug per 4-, 6-, or 10-inch container. Use a well-drained soil and completely bury the ellepot in the middle of the container.
Rooted Cuttings
Cuttings vary in size between different plant families. These rooted starter plants will arrive ready to be transplanted in to your final container. If they are to be used in a landscape application, you will need to establish them in a 4 inch pot or an 1801 before planting outside.

Before we take this relationship any further...
It looks like this is the first time you've added anything to your cart.
We just wanted to remind you that we are a wholesale starter plant company that sells to businesses, schools, clubs, and other non-profits. State law dictates that you must be growing for resale to order from us since we are not collecting sales tax.
If we aren't a match, we understand. It's not you, it's us.
We would look awful in orange jumpsuits.
