Serena Rose, also known as Angelonia angustifolia or Summer Snapdragon, is an annual native to Mexico and the West Indies. PanAmerican developed this cultivar for low maintenance and superior vigor in a seed Angelonia. Our rooted plugs come ready to transplant into your final containers, adding an attractive and straightforward addition to your spring sales program. Serena Rose offers an upright habit of 16-20" tall and 12-14" wide with dense spikes of rose-pink flowers that bloom from late spring to late summer. This water-wise, heat-tolerant Angelonia excels in full sun with regular water. This plant resists deer and rabbit and attracts pollinators, bringing colorful cheer to any landscape, cutting garden, or container.
Serena Rose Selling Tips
Sell Serena Rose to customers looking for a low-maintenance annual to add to a landscape or container. Customers will love the benefits Angelonia offers, including deer and rabbit resistance, heat-tolerance, and easy care. This annual reaches 16-20" tall in the landscape, with tall flower spikes densely covered in rose-pink blooms from late spring to late summer. Delicate flowers attract bees and butterflies to the landscape and flourish in full sun with little more than regular water. Create a stunning display of color and texture by pairing this plant with Dusty Miller, Geranium, Nasturtium, and Sage.
Coach Your Customer
1. Space plants 8-10" apart in well-drained soil in a sunny spot.
2. Water regularly and don't allow soil to dry completely.
General Growing Tips For Your Seedling Tray
For best results with Serena Rose, plant one rooted liner per 1801 cell or 4-inch container. Use a well-drained soil with a pH of 5.8-6.2, EC of 1.5-2.0 mS/cm, medium feed (175-225 ppm N), and temperatures of 65-76 degrees. This plant is day-neutral and doesn't require pinching. Treat with a tank mix of daminozide and chlormequat chloride to control growth. You may see aphids, spider mites, or whiteflies. This plant isn't prone to disease, although you may see botrytis.
Flowering
Tall spikes of rose-pink flowers bloom from late spring to late summer.
Pinching
This plant doesn't require pinching.
Spacing
Space containers for adequate airflow around the base and foliage of each plant and to allow sunlight to penetrate to the soil level.
Height Control
Use a tank mix spray of daminozide at 2,500 ppm and chlormequat chloride at 750-1,000 ppm.
Pests
You may see aphids, spider mites, or whiteflies.
Disease
This plant isn't prone to disease, but take precaution for botrytis especially when the days are short or humid. Water at the base of each plant in the morning, provide sufficient airflow in the greenhouse, and space containers so sun and air can penetrate to the soil level of each plant.
Planting Serena Rose Liners
We recommend planting one rooted plug per 1801 cell or 4-inch container. Use a well-drained soil and completely bury the ellepot in the center of the container.
Rooted Cuttings
Cuttings vary in size between different plant families. These rooted starter plants will arrive ready to be transplanted in to your final container. If they are to be used in a landscape application, you will need to establish them in a 4 inch pot or an 1801 before planting outside.

Before we take this relationship any further...
It looks like this is the first time you've added anything to your cart.
We just wanted to remind you that we are a wholesale starter plant company that sells to businesses, schools, clubs, and other non-profits. State law dictates that you must be growing for resale to order from us since we are not collecting sales tax.
If we aren't a match, we understand. It's not you, it's us.
We would look awful in orange jumpsuits.
