Fancifillers Sea Salt, also known as Wormwood or Artemisia ludoviciana, is a perennial foliage plant native to North America. Westhoff developed this cultivar for its neat habit. Soft, silver-grey foliage has a tidy upright mounding habit of 6-10" tall and 10-14" wide. This plant is deer resistant and flourishes in hot, dry weather with minimal water. Perennial in zone 5-9, Sea Salt provides a striking contrast to bright perennial flowers in mixed containers, landscape beds, and rock gardens. For a more delicate texture, try Makana Silver.
Fancifillers Sea Salt Selling Tips
Sell Fancifillers Sea Salt to customers looking for unique foliage to add to a landscape or mixed container. This plant offers many benefits, from low-maintenance care and excellent heat and drought tolerance to deer resistance and a tidy mounding habit. Create dramatic contrast in landscape beds, borders, and mixed containers by pairing this plant with any brightly colored perennial flowers or green foliage plants. This variety is perennial in zone 5-9.
Coach Your Customer
1. Space plants 10-14" apart in well-drained soil in full sun.
2. Water regularly as the plant establishes a root system, allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings.
General Growing Tips For Your Rooted Cutting Liner
For best results with Fancifillers Sea Salt, plant one rooted plug per 4-inch, 6-inch, or 10-inch container. Use a well-drained soil with a pH of 5.5-6.2, EC of 0.6-0.9, light feed (100 ppm N), and temperatures of 65-72 daytime and 55-60 nighttime. This plant doesn't require pinching or PGRs. You may see aphids or whiteflies. This plant isn't prone to disease but may be affected by stem or root rot.
Flowering
This plant is grown for its silver-grey foliage.
Pinching
This plant doesn't require pinching.
Spacing
Space containers for adequate airflow around the base of each plant and to allow sunlight to penetrate to the soil level.
Height Control
This plant doesn't require PGRs.
Pests
You may see aphids or whiteflies.
Disease
This plant isn't prone to disease. Stem and root rot can affect Artemisia in wet, humid conditions. Prevent fungal infection by watering at the base of each plant in the morning and allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Provide good airflow in your greenhouse. We recommend using horizontal airflow fans.
Planting Fancifillers Sea Salt Liners
We recommend planting one rooted liner per container. Use a well-drained soil and completely bury the ellepot in the middle of your container.
Rooted Cuttings
Cuttings vary in size between different plant families. These rooted starter plants will arrive ready to be transplanted in to your final container. If they are to be used in a landscape application, you will need to establish them in a 4 inch pot or an 1801 before planting outside.

Before we take this relationship any further...
It looks like this is the first time you've added anything to your cart.
We just wanted to remind you that we are a wholesale starter plant company that sells to businesses, schools, clubs, and other non-profits. State law dictates that you must be growing for resale to order from us since we are not collecting sales tax.
If we aren't a match, we understand. It's not you, it's us.
We would look awful in orange jumpsuits.
